And Olga S. Boem from Russia simply admired of him,
having said that he was an cat of rare beauty with very
perspective exhibition career, being a winner of the
large exhibitions, also the European ones. A magnificent
cat, a real star!

I
am very grateful to the jury for the warm wishes. So triumphally
our exhibition career has begun. And on the exhibition held
under CFA on April 30 1999 in a CFA championship class, being
9 months old he again has subdued all of the judges and spectators,
having become the Best Cat in Show. Nansy Doods and Douglas
Myers said that he could become an ornament of any exhibition
abroad. And after all Marina and I were about to take decision
weather to participate in CFA show which took place in Europe.
The final decision has been made after this exhibition. The
shortest straw for our doubts were Don Williams - the CFA
President - concerns. He said that the animal was a real startling
Exotic cat with excellent body very sort one, magnificent,
round, Persian type of the head. He assured the public that
since he had been breeding the Exotics for a long time he
knew that it was hard to receive an cat, similar to this!

His
reasons had been especially important to us, because Mr.Don
Williams was one of competent CFA judges. So we decided to
enter a stiff European competition for the ability to participate
in such a prestigious show as an International Cat Show -
the biggest CFA show arranged once a year - where about 1500
cats had been shown. The cats, which have passed preliminary
show only, are able to participate in the Show. CFA system
includes 7 regions of USA, 8th is Japan and Hawaii, 9th -
International Division, (structure contains of 15 European
countries, including Russia). And Qualifying show pass worldwide
during one weekend, in all regions simultaneously. In the
exhibition season 1999-2000 the screening round of the International
Division has passed on October 9-10 1999 in German, Alsdorf.
In CFA six ring show had participated 225 cats.

However,
having started so successfully in Russia, we did not account
to win easily in Europe

most charming cat of all of the exhibition of all we remember
best of all has been a blue Persian cat, GC, DW ERIPADISO
XANTIA, (owner - Eric Druyts form Belgium). Besides type,
and top show quality she has enchanted us by its top condition
and amazing hair length

were much impressed by: GC, DW YQUEM MISS FRAN, (Martine Gallian,
France), GC, DW ARGENTOVIVO MAMMOLO, (Paola Mercati, Italy)
from exotic division which became the Best Kitten of the International
Cat Show in America.

certainly, very much experienced. This had been the first
exhibition abroad In life of "Sugar Bear" and he has justified
our most courageous hopes, he has passed the screening round
having won the right to participate in "International Cat
Show 99".

the same way we memorized astonishing silver chinchilla GC,
DW WINGATE MISS ANN, owner - Picasso Bruno (Italy), in spite
of its venerable age by then she has been 6,5 years, she was
a bright representative of division.
In
the same way cats we like very much the cats of very high
quality with a top condition from Italian catteries: Blueskyeyes
(Gabriella Gоrini), Diapazon (Diana Ciliento), Summermujik
(Sylvia Cassini).

During the previous exhibition season, but in the same way
absolutely top condition cats from the following catteries:
Kuorii (Paolo Carnevaletti, Italy); Kall (Peter-Marianne Vanwonterghem,
Holland); No Comment (Aime-Dany Caporale, France); Murphy
House (Martine-Michel Nellisen, Belgium). Lately these cats
became our main competitors in the international division.
Having once participated in the CFA show abroad one can't
help coming again and again. The Following the 8-th CFA exhibition
was held during November 6-7 1999 in Holland, in Den Haag.
Here 450 cats from several countries had been brought.

Unfortunately
we faced some problems concerning visa and tickets. After
all show scheduler of CFA shows was very saturated: sometimes
2-3 shows per one month, in the different countries. And only
the fact that we had cooperated with Marina and had supported
each other, made it possible to cope with such serious and
difficult problems.

Very
Splendid cats of high quality were shown here. And a triumph
once again! "Sugar Bear" has not only become the best cat
of the show under such hard, serious competition, but also
has caused much pleasure and excitement to the jury. So Arie
Groenewegen the CFA expert said that the cat was the best
that he had ever seen in his life!

Only
at the last moment it became clear to us that we will be able
to leave to "International Cat Show 99" which was held on
November 19-21 1999 in Missouri, Kansas City, the USA. The
best of the best cats from allover the world having passed
the selection round in their regions had been exposed here.
There were 1307 of them… This significant CFA show was held
in a huge expocentre near Marriott Hotel which was rented
by organizers for participants of an exhibition. The abundance
of flickering lights and neon advertising, light and kind
iridescent atmosphere, all this pleased an eye and raised
hopes in our breasts. The organization of an exhibition was
perfect. The most known factory breeders of the world tried
to present the best representatives of the catteries those
days. The quality of the cats presented here was so high that
one was practically unable to remove a sight from every shown
cat. In fact each cats pleases an eye and the person who professionally
is engaged in breeding, receives true aesthetic pleasure,
admiring these magnificent representatives of their breeds.
Besides of Persians and Exotics, as we have got used to, the
huge amount of favorite among Americans, мэйкунов, абисинов,
american shorthair etc. was exposed. For the first time in
history of CFA on "International Cat Show" there has been
exposed an animal who was given a birth in Russia, brought
up in Russia. And we had a right to be proud of him. We were
pleasantly surprised with very strong competition among Exotics.
This breed is rather young, but the quality of the cats presented
here was very high. And it is not surprising, America is the
motherland of this breed.

Here
again "Sugar Bear" presented himself triumphally, having
become the Best Exotic of the International Cat Show
1999, Bob Zenda-BEST CAT, Liz Watson-4 BEST CAT, Wayne
Trevathan-5 BEST CAT, Kitti Angel-13 BEST CAT. (look
official report CFA - Almanac by February 2000). Bob
Zenda at which ring Sugar Bear became the best adult
cats among all breeds, said that the animal was perfect!
And one is unable to remove a sight from him. The Success
on "International Cat Show 1999" yet did not mean, that
we can sigh with relief and rest on laurels.

Struggle
for a victory in the International Division had been still
ahead. Having had a little rest after the journey we were
going to leave again. This time we were going to struggle
on the CFA show in Austria, Belgium, Italy. Except this "Sweet
the Bear " was also successfully exposed on the CFA system
in Russia. Unfortunately, in one article I can't tell about
all exhibitions and impressions, but readers of magazine "Friend"
had already seen the reports from the Russian exhibitions
in the previous numbers. On the following CFA shows which
took place: January 25-26 2000 in Austria, Klagenfurt, February
19-20 2000 in Belgium. Лоренкен, March 4-5 2000 in Italy,
San Remo, we were met with a smile by familiar breeders -
Eric Druyts, Paolo Carnevaletti, Martine Callian, Peter Vanwonterghem,
Sylvia Cassini, Diana Ciliento and many others. 2-day show
in Italy was one of the biggest and was a final chord of an
exhibition season in Europe. In well-known for the whole world
San Remo the best European catteries represented their animals.
We liked the fine representative of the Exotics DW Profecii`s
Bless My Soul of Yguem (Gallian-Dieufils, France) which became
the Best kitten of the CFA International Division of 1997-1998
season.

It
was especially pleasant to hear a high estimation from Gary.
He said that the cat he had seen that day has astounded him
- a perfect one. And again Sweet Bear came back with triumph.
Due to him we have got acquainted and have made friends with
the most known breeders of Europe and America. We were amazed
by relations between the breeders. An absolute contrast to
ours, the Russian ones. Factory owners happily and sincerely
applaud their rivals. In spite of the fact that we were the
main competitors in the International Division, these lovely,
sympathetic people had always been ready to help us. As mentioned
above, we had problems with visas, hotels, therefore the support
of the European breeders has been of much importance to us.
We are very grateful to the President of International Division
Peter Vanwonterghem, Entry Clerk Silvia Cassini for their
invaluable help. Besides of the participation in exhibitions,
we communicated with breeders who were engaged in breeding
Exotics a lot. Their opinion concerning the question weather
the Persian blood is worth pouring to this breed. And nevertheless,
having looked at the best representatives of breed in Europe
and America, having discussed this problem with breeders,
we came to the point, that at present time, Exotics still
require being crossed with Persians as Persians, undoubtedly,
improve type, a body strength and the quality of a hair. According
to the CFA system the exhibition season ends on April, the
30th and, certainly, Marina and I were waiting for the results
of our work with our hearts sinking. We assumed, that Sugar
Bear will be among 10 Best cats of the International Division
(but were not on absolutely sure in it as to our great regret
we missed 3 CFA exhibitions which took place in Belgium, Germany,
Holland, since circumstances prevented us from coming). And,
certainly, when I have received an official CFA congratulation
in which read: that Sugar Bear won the title of Division Winner
(the top CFA title in the International division, which by
the end of the exhibition season can get 10 best cats only,
5 best kittens and 5 best castrates only). Sugar Bear has
become the 2nd Best Cat in the International Division; 3rd
Best Exotic & Best Brown Tabby Exotic CFA 2000 National Awards

The
next exhibition season has been finished. And from all of
these trips we realized that the CFA Show is the magnificent,
tremendous show, a real theatre. Here one can receive such
a charge of vivacity and force, that all the failures and
troubles in our life in Russia are left somewhere far behind.
Having looked at these tremendous animals, real masterpieces
there appears a strong desire to work and create.
